Mouth Work - Why it is Important

July 23, 2017

Often I hear clients report pain and discomfort in his or her Head, Jaw, and Neck.

Whether it is a history of Concussions, Migraines, Headaches, Seizures, Vertigo, or Temporo-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD), I have been asked for help with several complaints in the areas above the torso.

Many people settle in his or her lives with these troubles believing that the only relief from agony is medication.

Rest assured, there is another remedy.

When one hears "mouth work," commonly it is understood as dental work.

Sometimes, however, receiving dental work can actually cause issues in the mouth.

Tightening of braces, drilling a tooth, and even pulling teeth can cause trauma to the mouth that may reside in the tissues.

How can one repair from strain that was caused from the inside of the mouth?

A therapist may help relief temporary suffering in the jaw with massage, but to have effective change, the root of the problem needs to be addressed.

You have to go in the mouth to help the mouth.

CranioSacral Therapy offers a protocol to provide work in the mouth by relieving the stress and restrictions from inside the skull.

By tuning into the CranioSacral rhythm, the practitioner can locate where the cerebral spinal fluid is not generously flowing and facilitate correction.

By releasing tension in the occiput region, the skull can begin to open up to healing throughout the head and neck.

Some of the bones that are assisted into aligned placement are the maxilla, zygoma, sphenoid, temporals, palatines, ethmoid, and vomer bones.

The hyoid bone also receives attention, along with with supra-hyoid and infra-hyoid muscles of the neck.

And of course, there are techniques to attend to the tongue, gums and teeth as well.

When a client receives a CranioSacral mouth protocol, he or she may immediately feel extreme relief.

This can be from a variety of numerous concerns, some listed earlier.

Pain and inflammation that may have been experienced for years can be freed from receiving gentle techniques applied within the mouth.

Can you imagine what life would be like without having those annoying headaches?

How about freedom from grinding your teeth at night?

Experience clear communication on a whole new level!

If you, a friend, or a loved one are experiencing long term discomfort in the head, mouth, or neck, consider the CranioSacral therapy mouth protocol!
